POLIMORFA Festival of Performing Arts in Valchiusella edition 2024
POLIMORFA is now in its fourth edition. As is its nature, it is constantly changing and evolving. The first, most obvious novelty this year is that our snail wears a new graphic design to fly
over the slopes of the Valchiusella. The shows on the programme grow to no less than 9 appointments, in a May of openness to the world around us, both because of the presence of national and
international artists, and because of the desire to connect and bond through the performing arts. In this era, perhaps it is worth having a time to reflect on the present, live rather than
through a screen, together in the theatre rather than isolated at home. To ask ourselves how our civilisation is and how each of us is in it, while wars surround us, but also seem somehow
distant.
So this year POLIMORFA entrusts the languages of dance, collective ritual, music and social investigation with the task of ‘artfully’ restoring to us the complexity of life. It places the public
at the centre, invited to participate directly in the performances and debates, in the conviction that democracy and peace are reflected in the arts.
POLIMORFA 2024 is a wish: let us connect, let us connect the dots of this confused present. The figure that emerges may turn out to be extraordinary.

MY HOUSE IS AT WAR
by BILOURA Intercultural Arts Collective
Participative Performance — Saturday 4 may 2024 at 16.00
Peace. Siege. Danger. Destruction. Resistance. Survival. In recent years, War has returned violently to our lives, forcing us in its brutality to question the meaning of terms we have taken for granted for too long. Like every year, the performance, which brings together the Valchiusellese community and international artists, will occupy public space to reflect on the meaning of Community, whether cohesive or disunited; at peace or at war; connected or disconnected. A collective experiment that starts with the questions: If your house burns down, what do you save? Where is your home? In your body? In your mind? Who is in it? Who is left outside? If it is someone else's house that collapses, what do you feel?

DALL’ALTRA PARTE
by ZEROGRAMMI
Dance — Friday 10 may 2024 at 20.30
Atom and Levana, survivors of a near-apocalyptic scenario, are a middle-aged couple living between two neighbouring countries at war. They spend their time inside their small, broken, dented, lopsided house, waiting for their beloved son, who has left for war, to return and illuminate their present with new hope. There is a war, somewhere in the world, here or elsewhere, and there is a border that concretely separates the house, as well as the very lives of the two characters who - in the rhythmic flow of a routine punctuated by the monotony of repetitive and mechanical actions - turn their existence towards a dimension of profound bewilderment, driven by the perpetual desire to find the other, to get to the other side by crossing the border. Perennially poised between what was and what no longer is, Atom and Levana build a new existence.

GLI ALTRI - INVESTIGATION OF NEW MONSTERS
by KEPLER 452
Prose — Saturday 11 may 2024 at 20.30
Who are the Others? We thespians devote a lot of energy to telling what seems to us to be an obvious truth: that those who are typically perceived as others (foreigners, homeless, LGBTQIA+ people...) should not be seen as a threat. And that placing diversity in easy categories is toxic and dangerous. Meanwhile, however, another species of Others is consolidating around us: the Haters, professional haters. We all have them present, even though they may not be part of our bubble. Their profiles have an alienating appearance: ordinary people who, amidst holiday and animal photos, fuel virtual pyres. Who, then, are these Others? Our Investigation of the New Monsters sets out to contact them and attempt a seemingly impossible dialogue: in a theatrical reportage that is also the crossing of a peripheral and abandoned part of society.

QUALCOSA DI NON ANTROPOCENTRICO
by VIAGGI CON L'ASINO
Theatre of Narration — Suday 12 may 2024 at 16.00
Fairy tales and legends collected and narrated in the places where they originate by the artist Claudio Zanotto Contino accompanied by Agata the donkey and offered to those who want to listen.
Something non-anthropocentric is the essence, the heart, the message of their experience, transformed into autobiography. An autobiography narrated in a place, the Valchiusella, which with its
myths and legends was the starting and finishing point of their first journey.
The show is, as usual, an experiment à la John Cage, in which the audience is invited, as Shakespeare advises in the first act of Henry V, to open their hearts and minds if they want to see and
hear all there is to see and hear. And at the end you can pet the donkey.

PASOLINI - UNDER EVERYONE'S EYES
by MARGOT THEATRE
Dance — Friday 17 may 2024 at 20.30
At the centre of the stage, a suspended wooden platform, held up by human arms. In the same space moves, solitary, visionary, Pier Paolo Pasolini, in eternal dialogue and clash with the structure of his time. Everything collapses for Pasolini: his faith in the Communist Party, his defamed public reputation, his love considered against nature. Slowly his life collapses, until the final raging collapse: left alone, Pasolini is forced to support the suspended platform with his strength, which, like the oppressive and violent society in which he lives, like a machine on a beach in Ostia, ruthless and inexorable, crushes him, until it collapses on him, causing his death. A journey through Pasolini's life, poetics and cinema, which uses the instrument of physical-poetic theatre to analyse the tense and conflictual relationship between the poet and the society of which he is a part.

NAVENERA IN CONCERT
Special event for the launch of the album In Fondo
Music — Saturday 18 may 2024 at 21.30
A project born in Valchiusella, a record of unreleased songs that tell the point of view of those who do not give up dreaming of a better world for all. A concert in which ears, eyes, and above
all the heart are needed. NavenerA is a band, but it is also a pirate submarine. It sails underwater, in deep waters and far from the plotted courses.
In Fondo is an album of songs, but also a graphic novel. NavenerA tells true stories, without filters, and when you set out you have to be ready to go all the way. NavenerA is Rock, Psychedelia,
Pop, Industrial, Progressive, Punk, Worldmusic, Electronic. In a world falling apart, NavenerA uses the creative act as a weapon of rebellion. Lou Reed said that nothing can defeat guitars, bass
and drums, and he was right.

A THOUSAND WAYS: UN'ASSEMBLEA
by 600 HIGHWAYMEN / SARDEGNA TEATRO
Experiential Performance — Sunday 19 may 2024 at 16.00 - 18.00 - 20.00
A 1000 WAYS is a triptych of encounters between 20 strangers. Guided by a score of instructions, questions, suggestions and physical directions, people who have never met build a series of performances for each other. Using a shared text, an evocative tale of perseverance emerges that emphasises how we see ourselves individually and collectively after a long time apart. Each episode of A 1000 WAYS explores the grey area between estrangement and kinship, between distance and proximity, and how a small gathering can make profoundly radical decisions.

production Italian edition Sardegna Teatro
Participatory performance for up to 20 people at a time.

ELEMENTARE
by COLLETTIVO AMIGDALA
A vocal performance lasting one night — Friday 24 may 2024 at 23.00
In a space equipped for sleep, a temporary community takes shape, founded on the desire to inhabit together a transitory instant that will be made to last through the hours of a night. Elementare is an evocation of ritual through song, an uncertain pact around the paths that words trace when they are shaped in music. A song addressed to the night, as a time of suspension, a celebration of waiting in which the dawn to come becomes a figure of a crossing. Six voices that are slowly consumed, words that become declamations, silence, lists, echoes: these are the primary elements through which an attempt is made to fabricate a shared poetic space. While slowly forming a vocabulary, almost a collective prayer.

PALCO APERTO + THE GOLD SHOW
Various surprise artists + big final by Giorgia Goldini
Stand Up Comedy - Sunday 26 may 2024 at 17.00
A special appointment of POLIMORFA, which for the second time hosts Palco Aperto: a free poetic container, open to anyone with the desire and urgency to perform original creations in public. A revolutionary experiment in which the inhabitants of the valley conquer the stage, a moment of performative surprise that will culminate in Giorgia Goldini's stand-up comedy: comic, bitter, intelligent, poetic without too many pretensions. It is chic but at the same time down-to-earth. It might make you cry, but only on demand. If we wanted to be posh we could say that it is pop, that it is terribly innovative, that it is classy and quality, that it makes a difference. But we don't usually do posh.
