THE NECESSITY OF PERFORMING
Performing arts masterclass aimed at professionals and art practitioners from any discipline, as long as they are comfortable working creatively with the body-voice
The masterclass perfects the tools for performing from what is the original impulse of creation: necessity. If art is not necessary, urgent, important, then it becomes superfluous, postponable, insignificant. In this era of the omnipresence of consumerism and the superfluous even in the context of art, the practical work of the masterclass is thus also a political work on art and on the artist, who is called upon to seek out, find, utilise and share what is urgent and what he identifies as relevant to himself.
One of the key points of the masterclass is the development of the skills of stage presence, which are used not only as an exercise for the performer's technical improvement, but also as a tool for creation and composition. Poetic Landscapes is in fact an intercultural and transdisciplinary methodology of creation, composition and dramaturgy developed by BILOURA in its research on the innovation of performer techniques and scenic languages. In order to delve into this way of creating and performing, the masterclass proposes a set of exercises that constitute a toolbox available to the participants even beyond the duration of the masterclass, allowing independence in the individual path of professional development.
The creative work intends to improve the quality of listening and observation, precision and expansion of attention, connection to intuition, management of creative flow, accuracy in creative responses to impulses as well as the implementation of creative capacity.
Frame
The masterclass is directed to smaller groups containing both group and individual work, based on the expressive and technical skills of each participant.
It is intended as an intensive 2-3 days workshop, but depending on the context, it can be also extended to an intensive week seminar.
