ZONA FRANCA
ZONA FRANCA is a creative workshop directed to heterogeneous groups of women, in which art is promoted as a tool for personal well-being and relationships. ZONA FRANCA is a space-time of simple and fundamental protagonism of self and relationship with others, where each is free to bring her own story and experiences, to the extent she feels appropriate for herself. ZONA FRANCA is based on the belief that self-awareness and belonging to a group are rich sources of energy for anyone. Therefore, offering women from different backgrounds, living conditions and cultures a reserved creative space means providing them with a place to find and build confidence, safety and freedom. ZONA FRANCA has as its core and horizon, precisely, a free zone: it provides no obligations, rules or expectations. For these reasons the creative safe space of the workshop can empower women and gives them tools to affront their life choices.
Aims
- To offer women a space for themselves, where they can be welcomed and accompanied to express their personality and uniqueness
- To foster relationships among women of different backgrounds, ages, and experiences in an informal, playful, and socializing environment
- Enhancing women's cultures of belonging, fostering intercultural encounters
Methodologies
Zona Franca plans to foster a process of self-discovery and self-expression: of one's imagination, emotions, voice, and body, for oneself and with others, through proposals to which each participant adheres according to her own possibilities, without forcing anything. The working method is the result of the mixture of different methodologies, that is, the meeting of theatrical techniques and activities taken from relational aesthetic psychodrama.
The theatricality proposed by BILOURA recognizes music, movement, voice and visual as integrated expressive and communicative languages. The creative activities offered to the participants are characterized by the multiplicity of artistic forms; by the centrality assigned to the skills of listening and observing what is happening; and by the enhancement of personal expressive intuition that emerges in the responses given to the proposed impulses.
Relational aesthetic psychodrama is an experiential and expressive method that leads people to activate within themselves their own imaginative and expressive potential through the group. The encounter with the other and the other's gaze are essential ingredients in the process of personal evolution since relations are a fundamental part of our existence.
The encounter of these methodologies takes place in the conviction that an artistic work is always and in any case as much a work on self-expression, with respect and with the strength of the group, as it is a work of strengthening the self, in which specificities and fragilities become points of strength.
Frame
Depending on the context of implementation, ZONA FRANCA can be articulated into weekly or monthly meetings, from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 10 appointments lasting two and a half hours.
